History of 2000 DS

There was a lot of damage done during the battle with a lot of shop windows smashed, so as we were leaving Euginio insisted on going into one of the shops to see what he could pick up as we were all skint, which ended up with him and Adam (the tour organizer) in jail for the night Luckily they were back in time for the next gig which was in a squat in Artius and it had a reputation for drinking and partying, sure enough it was, so it turned out a good gig. We set off back to Copenhagen where we were to play a 2 day festival with Fugazi, False Prophets, Hells Kitchen, and MDC. also made a surprise visit, the 2 days were great We left Copenhagen broke so we took 5 mountain bikes to keep us alive.  BERLIN FOR UNIFICATION We arrived in Berlin and the atmosphere was electric, the people were ready to party even though most of them didn’t agree with what was going on. It was as if everything had happened so quick that people hadn’t really had time to take it all in. We played out first gig at the K.O.B. which was an old squat venue which was legal now, we didn’t have much luck at this gig because Euginio’s dog had got into the garden and eaten someone’s pet rabbit, then hearing the news Euginio chased the dog up the street and it got run over by a motorbike, and we were then labelled as animal killers. To top it all during the gig the power was cut out, the amp started fucking up so we smashed it up and then put the bass player through the PA which then blew the monitor speakers, to end it all someone stood in dog shit and dragged it into the back of the truck. ‘What a gig!’.

  1. i lived in bovay st when you guys were there. im not ben death obvs but he is the one i remember best. he was the first person i ever met on e. i helped u guys rip out the radiators and the parque flooring. not sure if that was sold or just burnt. there was a remnant of the somerset stonhenge traveller family who had been brutalised by the gloucestershire police. this must have been around 87. met ben in 88 in the central cafe amsterdam, still in his top hat. i have to say most of the people at bovay street were selfish up themselfs arsholes. ben on the other hand was a sweet guy. btw if you want pix see if the daily mirror achcives have any. i let them in wghen i was on the door one night for £20 each :d peace and love and all that xx
